{Project} Wednesday: Birthday Card with Acrylic Paint Pens and Dreamees Stamps

Happy Wednesday!

I’m still loving my new Liquitex acrylic paint markers for cardmaking! These are such a fun and easy way to add color to your cards, quickly, easily and without a lot of mess.

Because the paint is in a marker format, you can simply apply it straight from the pen to your surface—in this case, I used the pen to apply paint onto my clear acrylic stamp. I spritzed it with water right beforehand to get a watery effect when stamping. When you do this technique, be sure to wash your stamp right away (warm water and dishwashing soap will do the trick).

Do you like the stamps, by the way? These are from Dreamees, a mother-and-daughter company from the UK. Their stamps and CDs are available from Create and Craft.

Birthday Card with Acrylic Paint Pens and Dreamees Stamps, what you need—

Birthday Card with Acrylic Paint Pens and Dreamees Stamps, how to make it—

  1. Lightly mist the large flower stamp with water. Apply blue paint, then stamp on kraft cardstock. Repeat to stamp more flowers going from the top right to the bottom left of the kraft cardstock.
  2. Stamp the sentiment in black ink at the bottom right. Ink the edges black, then glue to the front of the card blank.
  3. Die cut the label shape from white card and use the green marker to edge the piece. Stamp the flower stalk with black and stamp the large flower on top. Stamp the smaller flower on a second piece of white card, cut out and adhere with foam tape. Stamp and cut out the leaves, then foam-tape them as shown.
  4. Add a pearl in the flower center. Use foam tape to adhere the label. Tie a bow in check ribbon and glue as shown.
