{Project} Wednesday: Christmas Cards with Gelatos

Today on Studio SN: Christmas Cards with Faber-Castell Gelatos!

Christmas cards get a touch of sparkle and shine with this easy technique. Even better, you can swap out the colors and the stamp sentiment and have a quick, fun card idea for any time of the year!

Christmas Cards with Gelatos

What you’ll need:

Snow Cone Gelatos (Faber-Castell)

– Pearl Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter, Metallic Gold Rich Pale Superfine (WOW! Embossing Powders)

– Embossing ink (Versamark or other)

– Heat tool

Merry Christmas Circle stamp (IndigoBlu)

– Cardstock: matte white, teal

– Hammered gold metallic paper

– Craft sheet

– Mini brayer

– 1 3/4″ circle punch

– Water spritzer

– Self-adhesive pearls

– Foam tape

– Cream ribbon

How to make it:

1. Scribble Snow Cone Gelato on a craft sheet and spritz with water. Mop up the watery color with the white cardstock. Let dry.

2. Brayer with embossing ink and sprinkle with Pearl Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter. Tap off and heat-set.

3. Mat on teal cardstock and glue to the card front. Mat a strip of hammered gold paper on teal and glue across the card front, trimming the edges even with the sides of the card.

4. Stamp and emboss the Merry Christmas Circle on white cardstock, using Metallic Gold Rich Pale Superfine. Cut out or circle-punch, then mount to the card front with two layers of foam tape. Tie a bow in cream ribbon and glue to the card front. Add self-adhesive pearls as shown.

Can’t you see this same design done in other colors of Gelatos, like red or green, for Christmas? Or swap out the stamp for a birthday design? I love versatility!
