{Project} Wednesday: Making Christmas Cards with Fresco Finish Paint

Today on Studio SN on You Tube: Making Christmas Cards with Fresco Finish Paint!

Fresco Finish painted Christmas card

This PaperArtsy bells stamp is one of my favorites as it adds such a lovely vintage look to cards—and this card design is really simple and fast to do, as well.

Making Christmas Cards with Fresco Finish Paint: What you’ll need—

– Stamps: HPXM03 (PaperArtsy)

Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints: Tinned Peas, Vanilla (PaperArtsy)

Primary Bark Embossing Powder (WOW! Embossing Powders)

Embossing ink (Versamark)

– Cardstock: White matte, dark brown

– Kraft card blank

– Fine tip paintbrush (I used a waterbrush)

– Flat paintbrush

– Water spritzer

– Mini brayer

– Craft sheet

– Dark green grosgrain ribbon

Making Christmas Cards with Fresco Finish Paint: How to do it—

1) Squeeze a bit of Tinned Peas paint on your craft sheet. Roll the brayer through to coat it completely, then brayer onto the white cardstock. Repeat to add as much color as you like, without covering the paper completely. Let dry.

2) Mat on dark brown cardstock and glue to the front of the kraft card blank.

3) Squeeze a bit of Vanilla paint onto a smaller piece of white cardstock and use the flat brush to spread it out, leaving the edges unpainted. Let dry.

4) Stamp and emboss the Christmas bells image on the Vanilla cardstock with Primary Bark.

5) Squeeze a small amount of Tinned Peas on your craft sheet. Spritz a bit of water next to it and use the fine-tip paintbrush or waterbrush to create a watery mix. Paint the leaves on the stamped image. Let dry.

6) Stamp and emboss the quote as shown. Mat the piece on dark brown cardstock, then wrap one corner with dark green ribbon. Tie a bow in remaining ribbon and glue on top as shown. Glue to the card front.

Simple, easy—and a great way to use that fabulous stamp!

Note: I will be taking off from Studio SN for the rest of the month as I travel to visit family in the States. I’ll be back in the new year with more videos and email newsletters! Until then, I wish you a very happy Christmas if you celebrate—and a lovely start to 2015!
