Today on Resin Jewellery Tuesday: Postage Stamp Scrabble Tile Pendant!

New to Resin Jewellery Tuesday? Each week we to explore a new project using ICE Resin® from Ranger. These projects are based on the resin techniques covered in my latest book from Search Press, How to Make Resin Jewellery.

Postage stamps have fabulous artwork and can make unique pendants! This is from a collection of Australian postage stamps I received from a friend Down Under. Check out your local post office for local or special occasion stamps.

Postage Stamp Scrabble Tile Pendant, what you need—

  • ICE Resin® two-part epoxy (includes cup and stir stick)
  • Disposable gloves
  • Baby wipes
  • Mod Podge or other clear sealer
  • Small paintbrush or foam brush
  • Square wooden game piece—Scrabble tile
  • Postage stamp
  • Silver pendant necklace bail
  • 52cm of 1mm silver ball chain plus connector
  • 15/16” square punch (optional)
  • Jewellery glue (I use Beacon Dazzle-Tac)
  • Emery board
  • Toothpick
  • Scissors or craft knife
  • Craft sheet

Postage Stamp Scrabble Tile Pendant, how to make it—
1. Punch or cut a section of the postage stamp. Coat with sealer and let dry.

2. Use a paintbrush or foam brush to apply sealer to the flat side of the game piece. Place the postage stamp on top and smooth. Let dry, then trim the excess paper with scissors or a craft knife. Coat the top and edges of the paper with sealer. When dry, use the emery board to sand along the edges of the wooden square to create completely smooth sides.

3. Place the wooden piece on the craft sheet. Mix the resin, then use the stir stick to apply resin to the wooden piece. Begin at the center, then work the resin to the edges of the rectangle with the toothpick. Let cure.

4. Glue the bail to the back of the tile.
5. Add the connector to one end of the ball chain. Slip on the pendant.Scrabble tile resin jewelry pendants
