Studio Snapshots: A New Use for Lattice Cutting Dies

I’m typing this from my mother’s (incredibly well-stocked) craft room in Eugene, Oregon—we’re visiting for a few days before I head to Cleveland to film Scrapbook Soup segments. I’m having a ball reviewing materials for the Hot Off The Press segments, especially this one on cutting dies.

I’m probably the only crafty type out there without a die-cutting machine. (I know, how behind am I?) So although I’m familiar with die-cutting in the traditional sense, I was really excited to get this little tip from the Paper Wishes designers: Die-cut your design from paper (in this case, the Fancy Lattice), then place it on your card and spritz with a color spray. Yes, use it just like a stencil! I love ideas like this because it’s so simple and so obvious and yet I never even thought about using the die-cut paper this way.

Happy Monday!

PS. The Fancy Lattice cutting die is available from Paper Wishes. Maybe now is the time for me to get a cutting machine from them, too!
