{Project} Wednesday: Cardmaking with Embossing Paste & Dylusions

Today on Studio SN on You Tube: Cardmaking with Embossing Paste and Dylusions!

Dylusions embossing paste stencil card

I love Wendy Vecchi’s embossing paste in black—this is the richest, most dense black I’ve ever seen and it works beautifully with stencils. You’ll get a raised, textured effect with a crisp silhouette design. I like combining it with Ranger’s Dylusions because the contrast of the black with those vivid color sprays is really striking. And in this case, I used the Dylusions not as a spray, but to brayer it and spatter it. (For another brayering-with-Dylusions example, check out yesterday’s Washi Tape Tuesday post.)

Cardmaking with Embossing Paste and Dylusions, what you need:

Cardmaking with Embossing Paste and Dylusions, how to make it:

  1. Use the pipette to place some of the Dylusions color onto your craft sheet. Make two puddles: One undiluted, and the second diluted with water.
  1. Use the brayer to apply a strip of diluted Dylusions across the center of the white cardstock. Run the edges of the cardstock in the diluted color. Use the stipple brush to spatter undiluted Dylusions across the cardstock. Let dry, then add a strip of blue washi tape across the cardstock.
  1. Place the leaf portion of the stencil on the cardstock and secure with masking tape. Use your finger to apply the embossing paste through the stencil. Lift the stencil straight up to remove. (Tip: Be sure to wash the stencil right away.) Let the piece dry.
  1. Make a square black card base, then glue the stenciled piece in the center. Tie a knot in a piece of green ribbon and glue. Add the sticker words as shown.

That’s it—easy! For the video tutorial, please stop by Studio SN on You Tube to watch Cardmaking with Embossing Paste and Dylusions!
