Studio Snapshots: Storing Word Fragments

Tiny, one-of-a-kind and very very easy to lose. How, oh how can you store tiny words and fragments cut from book pages or magazines—while keeping them clean, un-damaged and organized?

Here’s what I do:

I glue sticky notes, sticky side up, onto pieces of recycled computer paper (old print-outs, first drafts, etc). As I cut words and fragments from books or magazines, I put them on the sticky side of the post-it notes. I used to be really organized (putting like words together) but now it’s a bit more of a hodge-podge and that’s okay because I tend to find surprising combinations.

All of my pages are in sheet protectors in a 3-ring binder so I can just flip through them. Sara Naumann blog organizing words

(I have a lot of words and fragments. And I love them all to bits.)

Happy Monday!

  1. Brilliant idea – and simple too! I’m always on the look out for ideas that help me keep my stuff organised and this is one that I will be trying out for myself. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Elizabeth
