Making Christmas Cards with Washi Tape, what you need—

  • Washi tapes: red with white dots, green with white dots
  • Eclectica ESN17 stamps (PaperArtsy). Find it at Frantic Stamper in the US or independent retailers in the UK. You can also order from PaperArtsy.
  • Cardstock: White, green, black, red
  • Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger)
  • Foam tape
  • Red and white gingham ribbon
  • White card

Making Christmas Cards with Washi Tape, how to do it—

  1. Cut white cardstock to size. Place a strip of red washi tape diagonally across the top left corner. Leave space for the stamped border, then add green washi tape.
  2. Cut a strip of black cardstock and glue perpendicular to the green washi tape. Continue with red washi tape and then leave another space for stamping. Place green wash tape at the bottom right.
  3. Fold the washi tape ends to the back of the cardstock, or trim with scissors. Trim the edges of the black cardstock. Mat the piece on green, then red cardstock. Glue to the front of a white card.
  4. Stamp the quote with black on white cardstock. Tear the bottom edge.
  5. Tear a piece of green wash tape horizontally and adhere to the top of the cardstock, the straight edge even with the top of the cardstock. Tear another piece of green washi tape so both top and bottom have a torn edge and place at the bottom of the cardstock piece.
  6. Mat the sentiment on red, then black cardstock. Use foam tape to secure to the card front. Tie a bow in gingham ribbon and glue as shown.
