{Project} Wednesday: PaperArtsy Arty Infusions Card

Happy Wednesday Thursday! (I’m moving a bit more slowly these days due to a broken foot, so we’re a day late here.)

BUT.

Wow.

I’ve used my recuperating time to explore the Infusions line from PaperArtsy, and I’ve had such fun with them! Infusions are water-soluble particles with 2 components: A dye color pigment plus a walnut stain. The color powder particles dissolve faster than the walnut crystals, so you can control how much color-to-brown stain ratio you get depending on the amount of water you apply. Basically, you can sprinkle them onto cardstock, then spritz with water to activate the particles. (You can also sprinkle them onto a wet surface for instant color.)

Use a light touch to keep the particles crisp, or add a lot of water for a watercolor effect. Because of the walnut stain particles, every color will have a vintage vibe to it, which makes them different from, say, Brushos or the Ken Oliver Color Burst.

One easy way to apply them is to use an awl (or a poky tool) to poke a hole in the metal cap (it’s thin metal and easy to puncture) then sprinkle them on your cardstock. Put a piece of tape on top of the cap to keep the powder inside.

PaperArtsy Arty Infusions Card, how to make it—

Place the white cardstock on a craft sheet or other protective surface. Sprinkle with all three Infusion colors, tapping a tiny bit of the color into different areas of the surface. (A little goes a LONG way!)

Lightly mist once with water. Allow the crystals to react, then add a bit of water in other areas if desired. Note: For this project, I used a very little amount of water.

Let dry, then mount top and bottom on green cardstock, wrap the right side with gold ribbon and glue to the card front. Stamp the sentiment on white card, mount top and bottom with yellow and glue across the card front. Add the flower and pearls.

Enjoy—and happy Wednesday!

  1. I love this Sara. Your recuperating is helping you to create art!

  2. Thanks, Miriam! Yes, there really should be an upside to recuperating! 🙂
