We have lace curtains hanging in our windows. They’re not really my choice, but when you rent a (furnished) house, you end up with some things that aren’t really you, but also aren’t so egregious that you need to do something about them. That’s how I feel about lace curtains: Not me, but not worth replacing.
But one thing I do love about them: The shadow of the lace on the wall or windowsill. This pretty pattern is something I just happened to notice in passing. It’s a nice reminder that even if you’re not crazy about something, sometimes the effect it has on something else can be lovely and inspiring.
