Today on Studio SN: Cardmaking with Stickles!

cardmaking-with-stickles-glitter-glue

Normally, you see Stickles Glitter Glue used in small doses—well, not today! Instead, we’re creating sparkly backgrounds with Stickles…and amazingly, the result is a lovely, soft and subtly shimmery effect. Perfect for a clean and simple style of card.

Here’s what you need:

Firefly Stickles: Ranger

– Cardstock: White matte, black, hot pink

Washi tape: Pink, pink-red (MT)

Kindred Spirits stamps: Hot Off The Press

Jet Black Archival Ink: Ranger

– Palette knife: Faber-Castell

– Paper flower, green brad, orange baker’s twine

– Foam tape

– Blank white card: 5″ x 6 1/2″

Here’s how to do it:

1. Cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ piece of white matte cardstock. Scribble Firefly Stickles across the cardstock, then use the palette knife (or your finger) to spread it out. Let dry, then mat on black and hot pink cardstock.

2. Place a strip of pink-red washi tape on white cardstock; trim with a narrow white border on either long edge. Glue to the matted Stickles piece and trim the short sides even. Stamp “just for you” on a strip of white cardstock, cut slightly narrower than the washi tape and glue on top.

3. Place a strip of pink washi tape on white cardstock and trim the edges to a narrow border. Repeat with two strips of pink-red washi tape. Glue to the left side of the matted piece, trimming the ends even with the hot pink cardstock.

4. Wrap the piece with baker’s twine and tie in a bow. Glue the matted piece to the card front.

5. Stamp the flower on white cardstock, cut out use a green brad to layer onto a white paper flower. Foam-tape the embellishment to the card front.

Easy, sparkly and perfect for so many occasions!
