Stamped Resin Mixed Media Ring

Hi friends! Today I have a fun way to mix your media—combining a painted scrap of kraft paper with stamping and resin to create an eye-catching cocktail ring.

I had a leftover scrap of kraft paper that I’d brayer-painted with PaperArtsy acrylic paints, so I stamped a bit of text from the Eclectica ESN50 stamp set (it’s a corner of the leaf image) with permanent black ink, then punched a circle, inserted it into a ring base and added ICE Resin.

Here are the stamps:

Here’s the ring base, which is from Nunn Designs:

I’m using ICE Resin, which is a two-part resin epoxy.

You can die-cut or circle-punch the paper to fit inside the ring bezel, then use a paper sealer or Mod Podge to paint over the front, back and sides of the paper piece. This prevents the resin from discoloring the paper.

Then, use a stick glue to glue the paper inside the bezel of the ring.

To keep the ring upright and even when you add the resin, simply cut a niche in a kitchen sponge or styrofoam packing piece, and insert the loop of the ring snugly inside. Then, mix the resin as shown on the instructions and fill the bezel. Let it dry overnight and you can wear it the next day!

Enjoy!
