Easy Metallic Watercolor Cards with Altenew

Hi friends! Last week I hosted a Live session over on the Altenew You Tube channel. I had a chance to play with their Metallic Watercolors (which are really lovely) and shared a few easy ways to use them to make backgrounds. You can see the complete replay here, and scroll down for photos from the session.

Here’s one of my favorite ways to use the watercolors: Simply dabbing on little spots or streaks of paint for a background, then spattering a die-cut word for the focal image. The watercolors will look beautiful on both black and white cardstock, so you can really experiment with different techniques. Also, the Mega Thanks die is such a useful sentiment for any card.

Here you can see another version of the streak effect, this time with spattering on top. I’ve simply painted white cardstock and then used the Rose Flurries 3D Dies to create a cluster. So easy!

And last, another spattered background, with more Rose Flurries. I really love those dies and think they just make a great addition to any card.

There’s much more in the video, too—I show swatches of the colors on white and black, and share my method for organizing those tiny rose dies. Hopefully you can catch the replay. As with other Lives, we go about an hour where I’ll demo and share some tips and ideas for Altenew products. The next one I’ll host is on August 6, and I hope you can join me then!
