Easy Painted Backgrounds with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish + WOW! Embossing Powder

Want to create easy textured backgrounds? This one is so simple to do, and works with any of your paint colors. I’ve gone for tone-on-tone with light and dark blue paints (plus some pastel blue embossing powder) but you could go for high-contrast and mix it up with metallics too—your choice!

Check out the Facebook Live video below to see how I made this spring-themed card.

What you need—

Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paints: Glacier Ice, Twilight (PaperArtsy)

Stamps: Eclectica ESN33 (PaperArtsy)

Pastel Glacier Mint Regular embossing powder (WOW! Embossing)

Embossing ink pad (WOW! Embossing)

Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger)

Brayer (PaperArtsy)

White, navy cardstock

Gold thread, gold sequins

MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)

Baby wipe or tissue for applying paint

Please note: I use a MISTI because it helps me get perfectly inked images and allows me to easily do the embossing layer on the stamped butterfly. You could improvise with regular acrylic blocks and some good aim, but if you have a stamp positioner you’ll find it much easier!
