{Project} Wednesday: Hunkydory Birthday Wishes card

Hunkydory sent me a fabulous parcel of Florabunda and Foxy and Friends cardstock and toppers earlier this year for a column I wrote for Making Cards magazine. Even though I made several decorated matchbox projects for my article, I still had a ton of papers, cardstock, toppers, borders and accents left over and I just had to put them to more use!

Florabunda Birthday Wishes Card, what you need—

Florabunda Matt-tastic Adorable Scorable Collection (Hunkydory)

Foxy and Friends Speciality Paper Pad (Hunkydory)

Metallic gold card

Gold embroidery thread

Foam tape

Pearls

White card base

Florabunda Birthday Wishes Card, how to make it—

1. Cover the card front with light pink stripes and dots paper from the Foxy & Friends collection, trimming the edges evenly with the edges of the card blank.

2. Cut a piece of green and pink border paper from the Florabunda collection slightly smaller than the card front. Mat on brown paper.

3. Glue a metallic border along the left side of the matted panel. Wrap the panel with gold embroidery thread, then glue to the card front.

4. Add the metallic bird punch-out to the card front. Add the Birthday Wishes banner with foam tape.

5. Glue the pearl accents as shown.

This card is so easy and fun to make! (And, since I’m using a coordinating collection of materials, I know the colors are going to match… no need to dig through my papers to find matching cardstock.) Win-win…and even better, I still have a ton of materials left to make more cards!
