Rose Blossom and Reverse Stenciling

Easy stamped and layered florals are my go-to for handmade cards. This simple design also features a versatile Reverse Stenciling technique that adds just the right watercolor-inspired touch to your background.

Here’s how: Simply take the Beach Towel Stripes stencil and put it on scrap paper. Tap or rub the inkpad onto the stencil.

Mist the stencil lightly with water.

Remove the stencil from the scrap paper (very important!) and press white cardstock on top.

Lift and you have a watercolor reverse stencil design!

This technique works with any stencil, but looks especially effective with stripes and dot designs. Note: Stencils with words should be flipped over so the text reads the right way!

The rest of the card is made with the Rose Blossom stamp and die set, which is an easy layering design.

All supplies from Altenew. Enjoy!
