Embossing Folder Backgrounds

I love embossing folders, but must confess that sometimes I don’t use them as often as I should. After all, they’re great cardmaking tools, whether you’re a newbie or experienced papercrafter: They’re easy to use, come in a range of designs, and they’re a good value for money. And most of the time, one embossing folder offers two looks in one—you can use the embossed, or debossed side of your cardstock.

Last week I hosted an Altenew Live, featuring their embossing folders. Here’s a look at one card I made using the Flowers & Leaves embossing folder:

For this, I’ve embossed the design onto white cardstock, then used a blending tool to apply Frosty Pink and Coral Bliss onto the raised areas. The sentiment is from the Signature Word Dies set.

It’s a super-easy way to get a pretty background and of course can be used with any ink color… or simply leave the embossing white for an elegant look. It’s up to you!

You can watch the complete replay with this card and three others, too.

Enjoy!
