Steampunk Lady Vagabond Card

Hi friends! Today I want to share a fun steampunk-inspired card from the latest episode in the Mixed Media series from Paper Wishes! It’s episode #26 Lady Vagabond, featuring paper, rice paper, a stencil and embellishments from Stamperia.

This slimline card features a beautiful blue background paper from the Lady Vagabond paper pack. (Because the paper is 8″x8″ and the slimline card is longer, I used the blue on the right and another piece on the left.) On top, I’ve done gold foiling, using a slightly diluted bit of Specialist Glue from Creative Expressions. I just water it down a bit and use my Distress Splatter brush to splatter it onto the paper, then place my gold foil on top and put it underneath something heavy so it can dry.

The clock image on the left is rice paper, which I’ve layered right on top of the pattered paper. Again, use some of the watery glue—paint this on to the card, then place the clock on top and smooth. Let it dry, then cut around the card edges.

I’ve also used a key stamp on the card front, and a bit of stenciling. The card focal is a couple of cut-outs from the paper pack, and for the card inside I’ve continued these techniques with foiled paper and another cut-out.
