{Project} Wednesday: Waffle Flower Congrats Card

Today’s project features one of my favorite brands in the crafting world: Waffle Flower!

Waffle Flower is well-known for their sweet, uplifting sentiments and fabulous dies and stamps. Nina, the owner, is also a talented crafter who shared with me one of her tips for die-cutting delicate elements.

Waffle Flower congrats card

Congrats stamp set (Waffle Flower)

Congrats die (Waffle Flower)

– Versafine Onyx Black ink

– Snow Cone Gelato (Faber-Castell)

– Cardstock: Black, white, blue

– Angle brush, stipple brush

– Blue pearls

– Black and white check ribbon

– Double sided tape, foam tape

– Craft sheet

– Die cutting machine

How to make it—

1. Scribble Gelato on the craft sheet and add water. Make a watery mixture with the stipple brush, then spatter onto white cardstock.

2. Use black ink to stamp the banner outline on white cardstock. Use the angle brush to apply leftover watery Gelato to color in the stamped banner. Cut out and adhere to the spattered background with foam tape. Stamp “high five” and “you did it” as shown.

3. Mat the piece on black, then blue and black again before gluing to the card front.

4. Cut a piece of black cardstock slightly larger than the “congrats” die. Place a strip of double-sided tape across one side. Flip it over and place the die—cutting side facing the cardstock—on top and run through your machine. You’ll have a die-cut word with the adhesive on the back. Apply to the banner.

5. Add the pearls at each corner and a bow tied in gingham ribbon.

That’s it, easy! Thanks to Nina for her great tip on double-sided tape for die-cutting.

As I mentioned in the video, this project came from one of my demos on Create and Craft. To keep up with the latest, please pop by the Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK websites.

  1. Sara, I really like the clean lines of this card, very pretty. Thanks too for the “sticker” trick. I just found you after reading my Cardmaker Magazine. Will be watching you Wednesday You Tube videos and checking your blog. Thank you for taking the time to do these!
